Freightview LTL Add-on Guide

Freightview LTL is the paid SmithShop add-on for stores that need merchant-owned LTL freight quotes for pallets, heavy products, and oversized shipments.

Use it when the merchant already has or is setting up a Freightview account with carrier access. SmithShop does not supply Freightview credentials or carrier accounts; the store owner connects their own Freightview API credentials.

What it is for

  • Showing Freightview LTL quote options during SmithShop checkout when a cart crosses the freight thresholds.
  • Pulling LTL rates from the carriers configured inside the merchant's Freightview account.
  • Supporting freight checkout decisions for heavy, palletized, or oversized products.
  • Keeping Freightview setup separate from ordinary parcel carriers like UPS, USPS, and FedEx.

Status and pricing

  • Status: Paid.
  • Price: $29.95.
  • The add-on must be purchased and licensed before live Freightview settings can be enabled.

Related services

  • Freightview API account and merchant-owned Freightview credentials.
  • Freight carriers connected inside Freightview, such as the merchant's available LTL carrier accounts.
  • SmithShop Shipping settings, freight thresholds, product weights, dimensions, and freight class.

Setup path

  • Buy and license the Freightview LTL add-on.
  • Open Admin > Payments & Shipping > Shipping.
  • Go to the Freightview LTL section.
  • Enter the Freightview environment, client ID, client secret, optional carrier codes, origin address, contact details, freight class, packaging type, and item description.
  • Save the shipping settings.
  • Use Test Freightview quote before relying on the carrier at checkout.

Configuration path

Admin > Payments & Shipping > Shipping > Freightview LTL.

What to test

  • Confirm the add-on is licensed and Freightview LTL is enabled.
  • Run the Freightview quote test with a realistic destination, pallet size, product weight, and freight class.
  • Confirm Freightview returns live quotes from the merchant's connected Freightview carriers.
  • Add an oversized or heavy product to the cart and confirm Freightview appears only when freight thresholds are met.
  • Place a test checkout order and confirm the selected freight option, price, and order record look correct.
  • If Freightview returns a payment-required or account error, resolve that inside Freightview before treating SmithShop checkout quotes as live.
